Mongolia is a landlocked country who shares its southern border with China, and its northern border with Russia. Mongolia is known for its awesome expanses of rolling steppe and the Gobi desert. Genghis Khan, the ruler of the greatest empire the world has ever known, expanded Mongolia's borders to be the largest country in the world. Currently its area is four times larger than Japan. With a population of 2.5 million, nomads comprise 30% who have a very unique culture. For example, they live in "Gers" which provide shelter, but are mobile as well. In this presentation the speaker will introduce modern Mongolia and its nomadic culture.

There is limited space for parking, so we would appreciate it if you come with friends and please be sure to park in the visitor's parking area. If you are visiting by car, please refrain from drinking.
